Submitting Material: Parishes, schools, groups and individuals are encouraged to submit press releases, photo and captions, documents and other materials for publication. The materials may be used in the diocesan calendar, on social media and the website or in Fairfield County Catholic based on the discretion of the editor. Materials may also be edited or shortened for publication.

Requesting a Reporter: Fairfield County Catholic assigns reporters to cover stories and events throughout the diocese based on available resources and the nature of the story. It is recommended that anyone interested in coverage first send an email or press release with details. The editorial staff will then contact the parish or individual seeking coverage.

Social Media

Social Media Office Page / Social Media Directory

Social Media is a growing and pivotal arm of the Diocesan communications effort. It is fundamentally changing how people communicate and creating new avenues of engagement as the diocese works to integrate its use in all diocesan and parish settings.

Its various “push” strategies advance diocesan messaging and news reporting, drive readers back to the website, and serve as a point-of-purchase resource to help promote special events. Social Media is a major tool that offers unprecedented visibility, community and accountability in the communications mix.
